Rum Cask that actually has tropical notes

"This Balvenie is amazing. It actually shows the rum influence - not just the sweetness from it. On the nose I get caramelised bananas and unripe bananas at the same time, sourdough bread, salt, rosemary, glazed watermelon preserve, vanilla. The palate re-enforces the banana note as well as apricots, coconut biscuits, raisins, salty bread. The finish is long and coating with some dry and sweet malt notes. Definitely worth the money and an awesome addition to the collection. Balvenie cannot do wrong."

Excellent Rum Cask

"An exceptional whisky that is full of flavour! The influence of the rum cask lends a beautiful soft sweetness, and the balance with the Balvenie sylte is spot-on. Dangerously drinkable :)"

Honeyed nectar

"Scent is of caramel pudding and melted brown sugar. Tastes of ripe banana and pineapple then comes fudge and toffee. Quite a lot to chew on. The finish is pleasant with honey flavours and rum omnipresent. Outdoes the DoubleWood in my opinion but might be somewhat indulgent for those who prefer peaty or harsher whiskies but should be fine for Bourbon drinkers."
