"A dram I would love to appreciate more of. The Virgin Oak started with a vanilla and fruit nose and has an appealing sweetness to it with a good finish All round a good dram"
The entry expression from the Deanston distillery in the Highlands. Matured first in older American oak ex-bourbon casks and then finished for up to one year in virgin oak casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46.3%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Heady virgin oak, bursting with lemon zest and sweet barley sugar, with delicious notes of apple and nutmeg.
Palate: A delightful sweetness, evoking memories of candied fruits and vanilla toffee, balanced with heather honey.
Finish: A satisfying light spice, with a rewarding burst of honeyed malt and sweet oakiness.
Overall rating: 4.0 / 5 from 2 reviews.

"Maybe there is just something about drinking whisky on a Friday afternoon but this dram is going down really nicely. It is quite rich in flavor and leaves a nice finish on the palate. Not bad for an entry level whisky. The Virgin oak and higher a bit higher ABV it is a good every day drinking dram."
