DESCRIPTION:
Hamilton Russell Vineyards Pinot Noir 2025 is an estate-grown Pinot Noir from the cool-climate Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus. Produced from low-yielding vineyards planted on stony, clay- and iron-rich shale-derived soils, the 2025 vintage was characterised by healthy growing conditions and concentrated, naturally fresh fruit. The wine was matured for 10 months in 228-litre French oak barrels, comprising 25% first-fill, 28% second-fill, 31% third-fill and 16% fourth-fill oak. Bottled at 13.2% ABV in a 750ml bottle. 

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Dark and complex, with red and black cherry, wild strawberry and cranberry fruit alongside subtle floral, savoury and spicy notes.

Palate: Elegant and structured, showing concentrated red berry and cherry fruit with bright acidity, integrated French oak and a distinctive mineral character. Fine, firm tannins provide freshness and definition.

Finish: Long and focused, with lingering tart red fruit, savoury spice and a stony mineral character.
