DESCRIPTION

A new small batch, core range expression from the Metanoia farm distillery in the Klein Karoo, introduced in April 2026 as part of their Klein Karoo Signature series. This single rye is produced on pot stills using a grain recipe (aka mashbill) of predominantly malted rye alongside malted barley, crafted in small batches of 2 to 4 casks. The inaugural batch 1/26 is matured for a minimum of 4 years in a combination of Rupert & Rothchild red wine barrels, bourbon and virgin American oak casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 48.6%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Exciting times in SA whisky as a new craft distillery brings its whisky to market! Founded by Kenny Scheepers, the distillery benefits from its partnership with industry veteran and whisky icon, Andy Watts, best known for his long tenure at James Sedgwick (producer of Three Ships and Bain's). The Klein Karoo’s hot, dry semi-arid climate has undoubtedly played a significant role in maturation, accelerating interaction between spirit and oak and contributing to flavour development.
