DESCRIPTION
Launched in 2021 as the first Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey produced and distilled by Kentucky Owl in collaboration with the Bardstown Bourbon Company. Created by John Rhea of Four Roses fame, The Wiseman is produced from a blend of Kentucky Owl 4 year old wheat and high-rye bourbons, along with 5.5 and 8.5 year old Kentucky-sourced bourbons. Bottled at 45.4%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: The first thing you discover is a sweet caramel aroma, followed by a warming allspice lift, a sprinkling of citrus and a hint of oak.
Palate: Caramel and allspice which present an excellent flavour as the mildly silky liquid crosses the tongue.
Finish: The allspice sticks around for a longer finish with caramel.
Originally founded in 1879 by C.M. Dedman, the Kentucky Owl Bardstown distillery went dark during the Prohibition era and remained dormant until a descendent revived the brand in 2014. Stoli Group, a global ultra-premium spirits and wine company, purchased Kentucky Owl in 2017 making it available outside the state of Kentucky for the first time in its history.
