The Three Ships 9yo Fino Cask Finish is the 2019 and fourth release in the annual Master's Collection. The blend was matured for five years in ex-American oak, followed by an additional four years in ex-Fino sherry casks. Only four casks were used for a total of 2,940 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 48.6%.
Nose: Prominent smoke and peat interlaced with figs, pineapple, orange peel, pepper and spice.
Palate: The whisky opens up with peat, treacle syrup, tobacco, spice and a playful nuttiness.
Finish: Long and warm with lingering tropical fruits, almonds and a soft smoky mouthful.

"Delicious, thick whiskey with all the delights of spice and smoke paired off with syrup and citrus. It's so wonderfully complex but perfectly rounded and well balanced. Tons of flavour without any unpleasant spikes in alcohol. This one easily holds its own against every big Scotch player in the price range (Talisker 10, Ardbeg 10 etc.). It should be an instant buy for any whiskey lover."
