An award winning South African blend from the James Sedgewick distillery. First released in 1991 and offering great value-for-money, this whisky won World's Best Blended Whisky in the 2012 World Whisky Awards. Bottled at 43%.

Nose: Robust and aromatic smoke which reminds one of Islay fills the nose and blends seamlessly with fruit, crisp oak and shortbread.

Palate: Ripe pears with a spiciness in the background and a powerful peatiness that fills the mouth.

Finish: Clean and fresh. The full peaty character lingers with fruit, ending with warm spice.

Very 😊 very good

Mr

"There is no whisky under R300 that comes close to this. The malt whisky with it's soft peat dominate the boring grain whisky, yet it is so balanced. If anyone ever needs a decent blended whisky under R200 with tons of flavor and depht, then this is the one"

Bang for buck

"In my opinion this can compete with some single malts. It’s really a great easy drinking dram with a bit of peat as well. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an everyday drinker and also for people new to whisky"

Makes for a great gift

"This whisky is still pretty decent and is a great entry-level gift for someone who is a casual drinker or just wanting to get into whisky. They put an age statement on which most distilleries wouldn't bother with at 5 years, which is refreshing."

Willem K. (4/5)

No Bains Killer

"It's fine, and actually decent, but it's at a difficult price point to recommend it. For slightly more you can get Bains which is a fantastic South African whisky - or you can invest a bit and get the 10 year old iterations which pack a lot more flavour."

A diamond found right on our doorstep

"I cannot believe it took me this long to discover this beauty- an amazing concoction with surprise and delight all over your taste buds. Peaty and spicy. Certainly lives up to Made Exceptional. Made Here. Can you believe this beauty is made in SA. Buy it, try it and will become a staple in your home as it has done in ours. I must say I have become the host with the most when I pull this out and introduce a song and dance with the wonderful taste this offers. A choice you cannot go wrong with. Every Saffer should have a bottle close by."
