Released in 2018, Port Charlotte 10yo (aka PC10) is now the core expression from Bruichladdich in their peated range. Produced using 100% Scottish barley, peated to 40ppm, and matured in 65% first-fill ex-bourbon, 10% second-fill ex-bourbon and 25% second-fill French wine casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 50%.

Nose: Ever present smoke that is drying, earthy, peatash in its style along with golden caramel, fudge, vanilla custard, hints of ginger, nutmeg and clove.

Palate: The smoke wraps loosely around the sweetness drawn from the oak with coconut, vanilla custard, lemon honey and smoked oysters.

Finish: Smoky but also with soft sweetness of fudge and malted barley, orange, mango and Banoffee pie.

Perfectly Peated and Balanced Dram

"First Bottle: It only gets better with each pour, it has the peatiness, but not an overpowering peat (which I usually love) but it's well balanced, it has an interesting sweet true Bruichladdich barley, honey malt shine, it has some of the notes of the Classic Laddie but with an intriguing spicy peat twist, loving it, definitely a special occasion whisky, but I can finish the bottle in 2 days, it's just that good, And at a decent price, it's well worth each penny."

A Beautiful Whisky!

"A fine example of when peat is so well balanced. The peat (softer, almost more coastal) is so well intertwined with the sweet tropical fruits, creamy vanilla, sherbet, citrus, and briny undertones. If you’re looking for a peat smack, I’d say go for an Octomore. If you’re looking for an all around balanced, easy drinking yet superbly complex dram, then this is an awesome choice!"

The Defacto PC

"This is now the defacto Port Charlotte, and for good reason! Amazing omnipresent peat but never unruly and always balanced with depth and flavour. Tropical fruit, icing sugar, vanilla pods, coastal notes and barley all come together for a new classic."

Great dram

"Pleasant sweet notes with light hints of smoke, a splash of water opens nose further and you get a burst of lime and vannila. The lime is again present on the palate and the whisky delivers a lovely silky texture with a good balance from the oak. The finish is long and carries all the smoke all the way through. Verdict : fantastic whisky"

enyoyable dram

"enjoyable anytime of the day with a soft smoke, caramel notes, a bit of sharpness both on the nose and the palate and over and above tanginess follows through with smoke slow fading away.really enjoyed it"
