The Jack Daniel's Straight Tennessee Rye is produced using a mashbill of 70% rye,18% corn and 12% malted barley. The same drop-by-drop, maple charcoal filtration that makes Tennessee Whiskey unique, is used for their rye. Bottled at 45%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Fried banana, hot chocolate and toasted grain.
Palate: Drying cinnamon and nutmeg, followed by more chocolatey. A touch of cooked apple appears later on.
Finish: Black pepper and spicy oak.

"This is a great whisky, not as Rye spice heavy as other Rye Whiskies, it presents more like a high rye bourbon. Quite sweet without the almost minty/savoury thing I usually get from a Rye whisky. This is a good alternative to the Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. I am told it makes a great old fashioned. Fantastic value for money."
