A subtle delicacy
"I haven't tried a bottle under the old branding, so I cannot comment on the difference between the older and newer version. However, based on my first encounter and impressions, I would say that it still holds up somewhat to its reputation as a good, well-rounded single malt. Nothing is over the top, and the small amount of gentle heather peat mixes in well with the soft sweetness and honey notes. If there is anyone with a particularly sensitive palate and sense of smell who don't want to be overwhelmed by the phenolic peatiness of an extremely smoky whisky, then it would do them good to start with this bottling."
