The Great King Street range by Compass Box are high-quality blended whiskies containing 55% - 65% malt whisky. Released in 2014, Glasgow Blend boasts a high (66%) single malt content, including peated whiskies. Aged in a combination of barrels: first-fill sherry, first-fill and refill ex-bourbon, and a small amount finished in new French oak barrels. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Although each batch varies, the typical vatting comprises: 34% grain (Cameronbridge) and 66% malt (35% Benrinnes, 17% Laphroaig, 8% Clynelish, 2% Miltonduff, 4% undisclosed Highland malt)

Nose: Baking spices and sherry wine notes with peat and light vanilla.

Palate: Full, rich and smoky with earthy notes, tobacco and a creamy body.

Finish: Peat grows more smokey along with notes of fruit and oak. Slightly drying.

Compass Box blend that rocks! Love it

"I probably need to disclaim that I really do like Compass Box in general so biases are most likely going to be the reason why I hype up Compass box a bit. But I mean why not? Compass Box whiskeys are phenomenal! Great packaging. Great overall presentation. Great whiskey. Great tasting notes. It just works. This whiskey is no exception. A lot of people don't like blends but this goes to show the craft within a blend and what it means to understand the contribution each component will have to the final product. I love this whiskey. I think it just works. It has so much going for it as a result of the sum of its parts. Highly recommended. Yes - it is pricey for a blend but its also worth it."

This is a fantastic, smoky blend

"Astounded by how lovely this is, the first time I tasted it; and that holds up; and it looks great! But Compass Box's whiskies do carry a premium price tag, bumping it down the value scale."

Sometimes Accidents Are The Most Rewarding

"When I first started getting into whisky many moons back I was on the hunt for The Artist's Blend (white label) but snatched this by mistake. My disappointed quickly disappeared when I opened this and poured a dram. I do think this is the lesser of the two Great King St. blends but this is still a fantastically complex mix of peat and dark fruits. Well worth the price!"

Delivers more than you would expect

"There's Laphroaig in this apparently but you would never know...Everything is so well integrated and everything just works fantastically. This was such a pleasant surprise. The nose and palate are inviting and deliver what you would expect. Really nice combination of smoke and fruit with a medium-long finish. Perfect for a daily dram."
