Released in 2011, the Parliament is named after the colony, or ‘parliament’, of rooks (birds) that have been nesting in the trees that overlook the GlenDronach distillery for almost 200 years. Matured in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 48%.
Nose: A mix of ripe autumnal fruits, like blackberries and plums. The Oloroso sherry influence is unmistakable, with candied orange segments, spiced oatmeal biscuits and toasted oak.
Palate: More Oloroso but with bitter chocolate sauce this time, which has been spread over plum pudding and infused with cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.
Finish: Long and lingering. Full bodied with smooth tannins.
