A blended grain Scotch whisky from Compass Box. Although each batch varies, the typical vatting is composed of well-aged, grain whisky from Cameronbridge and Port Dundas distilleries, predominately matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 43%.

Nose: A rich and enticing nose with vanilla, coconut and hints of milk chocolate, banana and violets.

Palate: A silky palate, with desiccated coconut, caramel waffle and clotted cream and toffee.

Finish: Rich pastry cream with lingering sweetness that gently fades.

First blended grain whiskey - I love it

"Super interesting fun little fact here - this is the first rendition of a blended grain whiskey! And I must say this is very, very pleasant. This is unique and very different to one's known malt whiskeys - especially since it is a blend of grains. Well engrained, articulate notes and I mean there is so much to take from this experience. It has so many similarities to blended malt whiskeys but at the same time so many distinct characteristics going for it. Yes its not the cheapest bottle out there and not cheap for a blend but its so unique that I simply cannot go by without recommending this."

A little taste of the good life

"The Hedonism really opened my eyes to the world of grain whisky. A delicate, sweet and easy drinking dram for any occasion... I've struggled to find a more enticing grain whisky out there. This is one for the whisky newcomers and those with the most discerning palates alike."

All aboard the grain train

"As a novice whisky drinker, I tried this on Marc's recommendation and was very pleasantly surprised - so much so that I ordered a bottle of it for myself and recommended it to everyone who would listen to my very amateur review. Divine, with a rich enough taste to distinguish this amongst the grains, but light enough for those new to the whisky world."

The benchmark for grain

"Hedonism remains a benchmark whisky for me - one of the best examples of just how brilliant grain whisky in the right hands can be. My shelf is never without a bottle of this - just so good, easy to love and even easier to share with others who may not be devoted whisky drinkers. All the notes and flavours you expect are there, along with enough complexity to keep die hard whisky nerds interested. Vanilla, chocolate, banana and some floral notes for me on the nose, so smooth in the mouth with more of the caramel, vanilla and hints of cafe latte, then a beautiful medium to long finish with more of those lovely sweet caramel, vanilla and light coffee notes. All this while having an amazing creamy textured mouthfeel, with hints in the finish too. A beautiful example of the art of blending whisky - shows why John Glaser and his team are the masters here."
