The 4th edition of the mysterious and limited Black Art was distilled in 1990 and bottled as a 23yo. Initially matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in a variety of assorted wine casks, the exact details retired master distiller and legendary whisky maker, Jim McEwan, never disclosed. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured  and bottled at a cask strength of 49.2%.

Nose: Rich and plump with sugared grapes and thick honey along with hints of lemon and lime and salty sea air.

Palate: Immediately "mature" with chocolate and sweeter tangerine and papaya balanced with barley sugar and cinnamon and aniseed.

Finish: Grilled peach and apricot sprinkled with demerera sugar.

Unicorn Whisky!!!

"I received this bottle as a wedding gift from possibly the best groomsmen to have ever walked the planet. I talked about it so much that they eventually bought it for me. The price is steep but with a whisky like this you aren’t just paying for the taste or the age statement, but also for the opportunity to experience something special and rare. However, when I first tasted this whisky I was just blown away...It’s absolutely delicious!!! There is so much going on in this glass that it can be overwhelming at first, so don’t think too much about the tasting notes, just sit back and enjoy Sir Jim McEwan’s special creation! Thanks for making this available to us mere mortals @WhiskyBrother"
