A permanent expression from Aberlour distillery in Speyside, part of the core range. Matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry butts, the double cask maturation that defines the range. Bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Soft and rounded, with fruity notes of red apple.
Palate: A fine sherried character, balanced with rich chocolate, toffee, cinnamon and ginger spiciness.
Finish: Sweet and slightly spicy. Warming and lingering.

"This whiskey helped me understand what "spicy" means in the whiskey world. But sorry, I cannot describe it to you. All I can say is that the taste sits at the back and sides of your tongue. Not that wicked peaty hit that Islay lovers like. But smooth, as thr previous review notes."
