Made entirely from Merlot harvested between 11th and 14th March 2022—two weeks later than usual due to a cooler growing season which encouraged steady ripening and preserved natural acidity. Fruit was hand-harvested and berry-sorted before undergoing spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel, followed by a 27-day post-fermentation maceration. The wine matured for 22 months in 70% new French oak and was bottled on 10 May 2023. 3 033 bottles produced. Residual sugar 3.2g/l. Bottled at 14.5% (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Perfumed and richly expressive, showing black cherry and ripe blackberry at the fore, supported by subtle cedar spice, earthy wild fig, and a whisper of native fynbos.

Palate: Full-bodied and inviting, opening with plush notes of black cherry and spiced plum. The mid-palate is complex and layered, revealing hints of dark chocolate and roasted mocha with a savoury edge that deepens the profile without distracting from the fruit.

Finish: Velvety and sustained, the finish carries supple, rounded tannins and a lingering echo of forest berries and cocoa.
