DESCRIPTION

Made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from the Kweekkamp single vineyard on Mont Blois, near the Breede River, rooted in limestone pockets interspersed with Witteberg sandstone formed from ancient marine sediments. The site lies in a secluded valley, benefitting from cooling influences and naturally moderating ripening. Grapes were harvested in three successive pickings to build freshness, mineral tension and textural depth. Fermentation took place naturally, with 10% of the wine matured in ceramic clayvers and the remainder in 300L French oak barrels. The wine was kept on its primary lees for 10 months with regular bâtonnage and underwent no malolactic fermentation, preserving purity and line. Bottled at 13%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Focused and precise, with aromas of lemon zest, lime blossom, white pear and kiwi fruit, underscored by a subtle flinty note.

Palate: Linear and mineral-driven, showing clarity and restraint, with citrus and orchard fruit framed by saline nuance and a gentle suggestion of nougat lending quiet depth.

Finish: Long and refined, with bright acidity driving the wine through a clean, saline close, delivering tension, freshness and poise.
