A 15 year old single malt whisky from Speyside's Tamdhu distillery launched in early 2019 as part of its annual limited edition releases. Matured in a combination of European and American ex-Oloroso sherry casks. A total of 24,000 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%.

Nose: An aromatic array of apple pastry, spiced currants and orange zest, with exotic notes of pineapple and fennel.

Palate: A burst of juicy apricot and vibrant raspberry, with lemon tart and creamy almonds on the palate.

Finish: A rewardingly long journey through warming malt biscuit, cream sherry and vanilla.

Not bad but the Batch Strength is better

"I waited patiently for a long time to taste this after loving the 12 and the Batch Strength. Finally got to tasting it and I must say that while it has that classic Tamdhu flavour it was a disappointment from an overall expectation perspective. The batch strength in my opinion is a better overall whisky offering a more complex and potent blend of flavours. Also does not match the levels of other 15YO Sherry bombs like the Glenallachie."

A full body

"It’s thick and packed with sultanas, butterscotch, toffee, orange zest and raspberry jam. Soft spices like cinnamon and a coffee-like influence add some welcome layers of complexity. Hints of cappuccino on the palate as well as gentle notes of pepper and nutmeg. Oily and mouthcoating with Maraschino cherries, peanut skins, sweet oranges and notes of cassis. Really enjoyable."

Finally great sherry

"Authenic sherry-matured whiskies are getting harder to find these days, particularly standard expressions. Too many of the "sherry matured" whiskies from the big brands have become watered down... but not Tamdhu, and certainly not the 15yo! Only a matter of time until this price goes up. Love it."

Difficult to find any flaw

"After almost working through a bottle, it has to be said that this is a superb whisky without any glaring flaws whatsoever. Just supremely well balanced, rich, vibrant, and delicious flavours and aromas to be found here."

"A fantastic dram giving rich sherry notes but also allowing the fruitier style to shine through.one of my best in their range"
