Surprisingly Good
"Surprisingly good. Heavy peat but really well integrated. Subtle notes of lime and like shortbread biscuits. Nice texture and mouthfeel. You get the tequila cask influence but it's not too heavy. A good buy"
Launched in 2022, a limited-edition single malt Smokehead from an undisclosed Islay distillery. Terminado means 'finished' in Spanish, and this edition of Smokehead has been finished in Tequila casks. Bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Peaty smoke struts with vanilla and shortbread. Almonds mix with chewy meringue. Blood orange stirs with burnt sugar. And barbecued pineapple brings a surprise move.
Palate: Riot of smoke and citrus. Peat and malt go toe-to-toe with toffee, lime spins with peach, and citrus balances perfectly with burnt corn-on-the-cob.
Finish: Long and sweet with a gentle heat, a dash of citrus and sprinkle of pepper. But it’s still not the end. There’s always time for another dance.

"I’ve never been one for tequila casks and felt they were a bit of a phase the industry was going through. This one is the exception for me though. Wonderfully integrated smoke with discernible tequila cask influence. My favorite of the smokeheads currently."
