DESCRIPTION

A permanent release from the Macallan distillery in Speyside, in their Double Cask Collection, formerly known as Double Cask but refreshed in 2024. Matured for 12 years in a combination of American and European oak casks, both seasoned with sherry. Naturally coloured and bottled at 40%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Creamy butterscotch, toffee apple, candied orange, vanilla custard and fresh oak.

Palate: Wood spices with ginger and nutmeg, along with citrus, caramel and raisins.

Finish: Lingering, warm oak that is both sweet and drying.

"If you are a Macallan fan and especially loved the older expressions, you will definitely enjoy this dram. The nose is very inviting with subtle hints of raisins, orange and sweet butterscotch. The palate is smooth and very easy drinking with citrus and again raisin and a hint of spice coming through giving it a good all round finish with a sweet yet dry sherry wood taste keeps you coming back for more. It is a great new addition to the family and worth buying a bottle for that everyday drinking corner in your whisky cabinet."
