Laphroaig
"Not as bizarre as Laphroaig 10 but still the stuff of bogs and ancient, decomposed organic material. Like eating roast plesiosaur."
Laphroaig underwent a packaging makeover in 2023 with increased recyclability and reduced plastic components, including the replacement of the original plastic stopper with a beech wood stopper. This expression offers an extra punch of flavour with Laphroaig's standard ex-bourbon cask matured whisky, moved into smaller quarter casks for an undefined finishing period. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at 48%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Smouldering peat with aromas of coconut and banana.
Palate: Deep, complex and smoky yet offers and surprises the palate with a gentle sweetness.
Finish: Really long and dries appropriately with smoke and spice.
Overall rating: 4.3333335 / 5 from 3 reviews.

"Laphroaig is one of my favourite Isaly whiskies for its intensity of flavours and the complexity of sweetness interwoven with the peaty maritime character. This expression packs a punch due to the small casks used for finishing and the bottling at a higher strength without chill filtration."

"In the core Laphroaig range, this is the shining star! Peat, iodine, TCP/creosote, soot, sweet lemons, and a smidgen more ABV to bring it all home. In other words, all the flavours you love and want in a Laphroaig, but dialed up to 11."
