DESCRIPTION

The flagship release from the GlenDronach distillery in the Highlands, presented in refreshed packaging introduced in 2024. This richly sherried single malt is matured for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of Spanish Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. Naturally coloured and bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Sweet, rich and spicy fruit, with sugared citrus, honey and caramel. Spiced mulled wine and pear with hints of ginger.

Palate: Toffee sweetness, apples, a hint of vanilla and rich dark fruit. Warm, rich oak and sherry sweetness with a full mouth feel, raisins and soft fruits and spicy.

Finish: Dusty wood, raisins, slightly nutty and lingering spice.

"Wonderfully sweet and spicy. Caramel, green apples, chocolate and cinnamon on the nose. Nice and oily on the palate as well. A lot of flavor in this one but it’s not a sherry bomb"

"This whisky has a heavy European oak influence which gives it that dark dried fruit and spicy character. It is the perfect dram for a cold winter night or whenever you are looking for a "comfort whisky". I am delighted that it's not chill-filtered or artificially coloured because it gives this dram that extra punch and finish despite the standard ABV."

"Love it! In terms of sherry casked whiskies, this is one of the few standard releases at a good price available in SA. Always have a bottle at home for drinking and pouring for friends. Th spice comes through nicely but is balanced and not sherry "heavy" like some others."
