Each batch of the Classic Laddie will, by nature, be unique and subtly different, but Head Distiller Adam Hannett individually selects casks to showcase the classic, floral and elegant Bruichladdich house style. Made from 100% Scottish barley then matured for its entire life by the shores of Loch Indaal primarily in ex-American oak casks. Each bottle has a unique batch code that can be used on the Bruichladdich website for full recipe details. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 50%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Barley sugar and a hint of mint with freshly cut wild flowers. Clean with sea air, caramelised fruits, lemon drops and honey.

Palate: Refined and refreshing with sweet oak and barley. Ripe green fruit, brown sugar and sweet malt bring.

Finish: Sprightly fruit and tangy sea-spray linger.

Bright, floral, delicious

"A no age statement whisky that certainly seems more than well enough aged before being bottled. The ABV helps with a great flavour profile that can be diluted a bit, and the soft floral, heather, caramel, hint of banana, and caramel notes come through. Unpeated Islay whiskeies are treat and the Laddie certainly is one. Light enough to enjoy as a daily dram (if it was a bit cheaper) but that being said it is worth the price. One of my favourites since trying it eight years ago."

"This is an entry level, unpeated islay whisky without an age statement. I was sceptic before I tried it thinking it can’t be that great. But... It’s well worth the price, very light, sweet and fruity and complex. Also, there aren’t many distilleries that use wine in their entry level releases, but Bruichladdich does and it works so well"

"With a beautiful bottle that already catches the eye, the Classic Laddie is a no age statement, unpeated style whisky and definitely a classic dram. It has a beautiful nose with lots of sweet fruits and vanilla coming through. The palate is filled with again a sweet melon, vanilla taste and a hint of salt that lingers on the palate leaving a great salted caramel apple note behind. Coming from a distillery where they offer a great range of whiskies for every palate out there, this is and always will be a great buy!"

Lovely Stuff

"Ubpeated and a great introduction to the brand and what it does. Always complex, always fruity and always beautifully made. This is the easiest drinking dram from the distillery and stands out due to its bright blue packaging. On the nose you are struck by barley and a wide array of fruits - melon, papaya, orange, hints of vanilla. Taste is light and summery, almost bourbon sweet - beautiful balance is the underlined statement on my tasting note. Surprisingly long finish."
