Mixed Feelings
"Fellow Ardbegians, don’t hate me- after all Whisky is subjective, and I am a die-hard Ardbegian at heart, but this is not my favorite Ardbeg. In saying that, it is not bad, it just doesn’t blow my socks off as other core releases have. I feel at times it’s flavor notes are not integrated overly well and are a bit all over the show. However, it does provide a solid dose of drinkability, with that classic Ardbeg barbecue smoke (albeit softer), and sweet Milk Chocolate and toffee. I personally wouldn’t go for this as opposed to an Uigedail or Wee Beastie, they provide more classic Ardbeg character in my opinion, but it isn’t undrinkable, and I certainly wouldn’t say no to a dram. I just wouldn’t need to be held back from one either."

Well Rounded
"After the initial intense peat, smoke, fire, and spiciness, some oak also comes through, and then the dram settles down and mellows out a bit. Well rounded hints of fruit and vanilla with a creamy mouthfeel transition into a sweet finish with a minty after taste."

Ardbeg An Oa
"Smooth and silky yet also dark and smokey - like the flapping wings of a Nazgul's hell beast"

What? a soft Ardbeg?
"Not as peaty as the other Ardbeg offerings, it's like this is aimed at the marked that Ardbeg missed with their heavy peaty styled whiskies. It's like your brain prepares you for the classic Ardbeg taste and when you taste it, it actually shocks you how easy it is and smooth. My friend says it's a watered down traitor, but he is a Ardbeg fan, I must say it's not watered down, it's just it's own whisky and should not drink it and think of the heavier Ardbeg whiskies."

Not the typical
"This one seems quite different from other Ardbergs, in that I find it starts sweet and ends spicy. Obviously the whole time keeps its peatiness and so still very enjoyable, as are all Ardbergs, and not a bad price too."

A lovely Islay introduction
"This is the Ten's more refined, gentle elder brother. It delivers a touch more sweetness but more subdued peat. A fantastic dram and a good option if you are looking to introduce someone to Islay whisky."

Elegant and balanced
"The Ardbeg An Oa is not the salty, TCP and strong tar pole notes of an Uigeadail, but a softer, more elegant and refined version of it. Perfectly balanced with an amazing finish."

Mr
"This is for individuals who want to enjoy the Ardberg signature but not able to handle heavy Peaty and Smokey notes of the 10 year old, Corryvrekan and Uigeadail. Very enjoyable indeed."

Tastes like my honeymoon
"We went to Scotland on our honeymoon and this was one of the whiskies I bought home with me. Thank goodness that whisky brother is able to keep our cabinet stocked because this is my go-to nightcap. The honeymoon bottle is long gone"
