ESCRIPTION
A single cask from the Ben Nevis distillery in the Highlands, bottled by independent bottler Signatory. Distilled on 2 July 2014, fully matured in a first-fill ex-bourbon hogshead, and bottled earlier this year on 28 May. Only 248 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured, and bottled at a cask strength of 60.3%.
TASTING NOTES
Note: Creamy with milk chocolate, dusty oak, malt and white fuzzy peach and pear. There is a light chalkiness and mineralic side to this, all positive hallmarks of the Ben Nevis style.
Palate: Sweetness upfront, with the woodiness balancing the rich oiliness. Slightly waxy, with banana milkshake, light vanilla and more malt, all softening with time in the glass.
Finish: Mouthcoating and lingering with a dusting of white pepper, oak and bitter vanilla.
