DESCRIPTION

The Lomond Candelabra Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Lomond Wine Estate in the Cape Agulhas appellation, South Africa. Named after the endangered Red Candelabra Flower (Brunsvigia orientalis), this wine is produced from low-yielding vines planted on decomposed gravel soils, reflecting the estate's commitment to both terroir and biodiversity. Hand-picked grapes undergo small-batch fermentation before maturing for 12 months in first-fill French oak barrels, resulting in a refined and elegantly structured Cabernet Sauvignon. Bottled at 14% ABV.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Classic Cabernet aromas of ripe blueberry and cassis, layered with cedar, sweet capsicum and subtle spice.

Palate: Concentrated dark berry fruit with notes of blackberry, blueberry and plum, complemented by cedar, black pepper and fine, precise tannins that provide balance and elegance.

Finish: Long and poised with lingering savoury spice, integrated oak and a fresh, refined finish.
