DESCRIPTION

A permanent expression from the Benromach distillery in Speyside, first released in 2015 and generally unavailable in SA. Matured for in first-fill sherry and bourbon casks, including sherry-seasoned oak sourced from the "Sherry triangle" in Jerez, Spain. Lightly peated with highland peat, in keeping with Benromach's house style. Naturally coloured and bottled at 43%.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Sweet toffee leading to cracked black pepper and peat smoke, with rich forest fruits, dark chocolate and dried banana.

Palate: Creamy and sweet with ripe apples and an undertone of charred oak, developing dark chocolate, toasted malt and orange peel with a subtle hint of smoke.

Finish: Medium, creamy, with soft smoke and dried fruit.
