Originally released at the Spirit of Speyside festival in 2010, Glenfarclas 40yo is the oldest in the Speyside distillery’s core range of age statement whiskies. Matured for 40 years in hand-selected European oak Oloroso sherry casks from a family-run Bodega in Spain. Bottled at 46%.
Nose: A fresh sweetness and fruity Turkish Delight aroma. Its freshness and power are similar to the first time you open a bag of freshly ground Java coffee beans.
Palate: Sweet taste, followed by a peppering of caramel and chocolate explosions. Sherry power creeping its way to the back of your mouth releasing dark chocolate, raisins and sultanas.
Finish: A sweet, crisp, dry and lingering finish.
